Accounting Analyst

Overview:
This position will provide accounting and operational support to the World Wide Accounting Services Supply Chain Distribution Accounting group located in Webster, New York. The analyst will be responsible for a broad variety of accounting tasks, centered on inventory reporting, various inventory reclassification processes and variances, and various inventory transfers between systems or internal organizations. The analyst will create, manage and support various desktop computer applications and databases, will be responsible for supporting month-end financial close, related journal entries, and various balance sheet account reconciliations. The analyst will provide research and causals into the accounts and activities for which he/she has direct responsibility. The analyst will be responsible for supporting appropriate internal controls, and maintaining up-to-date desk procedures and desktop applications documentation as the environment warrants changes. Relative to desktop applications, the analyst will be responsible for updating and modify the applications and testing to support business and requirements changes as appropriate.
This person will continually provide accounting, internal controls and operational business support to Accounting, Xerox Information Management, and Operations. This person supports and administers compliance with US GAAP, all Xerox policies, audits (internal and external) and any external information requests, as required.
Primary
Responsibilities:
Primary focal point for Oracle inventory accounting analyst responsibilities and related functions
Systems' SME for setups in Oracle and Custom Inventory systems
Primary focal point for creation and delivery of various tax reporting for inventory and similar activity
Create data and reporting management tools / desktop apps as needed
Support existing desktop apps continuity, redesign, testing, and reviews
Participate on system projects teams to develop, review approve, and test Supply Chain Accounting requirements
General monthly close activities including; Account Reconciliations, Journal Entries, and Balance Sheet Causals
External Auditor Interim and Year-end Testing Data Support as required
Internal Control Deliverables and Support including Sarbanes Oxley Business Process Walk-Throughs, and Controls Desktop Applications Reviews
Systems' Project Requirements and Testing support as required
Education and Background Requirements:
Required degree in Accounting, relevant accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years, demonstrating US GAAP knowledge
Preferred Internal Controls knowledge and experience to support Sarbanes Oxley controls processes
Required experience with general ledger journal entry preparation and documentation
Required experience with balance sheet account reconciliations and documentation
Required excellent English (Written and Verbal)
Required excellent communications skills
Require excellent change management and documentation skills
Desired Experience and Proficiencies:
Require proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint ability to manage MS Access databases, including required modifications and testing
Prefer knowledge of Oracle or similar systems' experience
Helpful to have experience with legacy mainframe systems
Require ability to multi-task effectively to support large variety of tasks and areas
Require ability to work with large volumes of data and transactions as well as numerous interfacing computer systems and environments
Ability to work flexible hours occasionally to support deadlines surrounding monthly close processes
Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of operational, systems, finance, and accounting personnel.
Ability to effectively evaluate and prioritize key deliverables and deadlines in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
